Fix CDP r1soft error : Could not find a suitable hcpdriver module for your system

When you enter below commands to update cdp kernel module

r1soft-setup –get-module

OR

serverbackup-setup –get-module

You will get below error :

Failed to find headers at `/lib/modules/3.10.0-693.11.6.el7.x86_64/build.
Get module failed.
Falling back to old get-module

# You need to check if you have the necessary tools to build the module

# yum install kernel-headers-$(uname -r)

# yum install kernel-devel-$(uname -r)

Once you install these tools please run the command again r1soft-setup –get-module  or  serverbackup-setup –get-module

# If the building of the module failed again. Run the following command

# yum update r1soft-getmodule.x86_64

Then try again

# serverbackup-setup –get-module

# You cannot build the module directly on the Linux system

# Verify your kernel version by running

# uname -r

# Download the module directly from the R1doft website  http://r1soft.mirror.iweb.ca/repo.r1soft.com/modules/

Example my Kernel is  3.10.0-657.13.2.el7.x86_64 and I download the module

# Go to the directory

# cd /lib/modules/r1soft

# Download the module

# wget

# restart the CDP-agent

# /etc/init.d/cdp-agent restart  # RedHat 6

# systemctil restart sbm-agent.service  Redhat 7

# Under the directory /lib/modules/r1soft you should see a link created

Example:

lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root      63 Feb 24 18:19 hcpdriver.o -> /lib/modules/r1soft/hcpdriver-cki-3.10.0-657.13.2.el7.x86_64.ko
